There is no doubt that all goose hunting blinds have their advantages and their drawbacks, and many hunters like to experiment with designing their own. To build your own goose hunting blinds requires a bit of imagination, an understanding of what works and what doesn't, plus a good idea of what fools geese and what scares them off.
Getting started to build your own goose hunting blinds requires a bit of planning, so start by making some notes and sketches of what you like and what you know that you don't want. Some points to consider when deciding to build your own goose hunting blinds include:
• Do you want to lay down or sit up in the blind?
• Do you wish to have a solid bottom on the blind?
• Will you need to pack or cart the blind on foot?
• What materials do you want to use for the blind?
• How to you wish to have the frame go together?
• How heavy or light should the blind be?
• How many people will use the blind?
Once you have the basic idea of the size, material and dimensions, your next step in how to build your own goose hunting blinds is to actually go out and find the materials. A great idea for cheap and lightweight frame material is ¾ inch electrical conduit. This can be purchased at any home supply or electrical supply store. It is usually gray, but can be easily spray pointed brown to blend into the surrounds. You may also want to paint in various colors of brown and tan, especially if you are hunting on fields rather than in marsh areas.
The next step in getting ready to build your own goose hunting blinds is to find the covering material. Man-made fabrics will be lighter weight, but will also flap more and move more with the wind. This may draw attention to the blind, especially on flat fields and solid surfaces. Heavier, natural fabrics move less, are less shiny, and often are more practical to clean and care for. In addition brush or straw can be used to cover the sides of the blind for both additional camouflage and minimization of wind movement on the blind.
To actually build your own goose hunting blinds in the field cut 6 lengths of the electrical conduit about 5 feet in length, or roughly in half. These will form three inverted "V" shapes for the sides and top. Two eight to ten foot lengths can be used to support the sides, one down the middle of each of the inverted "V" shapes. The ends will remain open. The blind can be made taller or shorter by spreading out the supporting sides of the "V"s. The conduit is held together in place with wide rubber bands, electrical tape or leather strips. Remember it is only a temporary blind and taking apart and putting up should be simple and easy.

Finding and Understanding Texas Deer Hunting Leases
.jpg)
Finding the best Texas deer hunting leases does not have to be hard and it does not have to be expensive. While Texas can honestly boast about its deer population, finding those animals can be challenging. But finding the lands to harvest them on can be easy.It wasn't all that many years ago when finding Texas deer hunting leases was more about who you knew than it was about what you knew. If you knew a landowner who allowed harvesting, you were set. But if you didn't know anyone with land, you were pretty much left out. That has all changed now. By using the Internet anyone can find the landowners who are willing to lease out plots. There are two very good ways for you to find those landowners. The first is through websites that post offerings of Texas deer hunting leases to the general public. These websites allow landowners to describe what they have and how much it costs and give contact information that you can use for follow up. The draw back to these is that they are rather static. The information that has been posted may be outdated or it may not be accurate. The accuracy of these posting is directly related to website maintenance. If the information is kept current, no problem, but many of these are not as current as they should be.The second option you have for locating the best Texas deer hunting leases is through the message boards or forums. These venues are gaining a lot of popularity and loyalty with both hunters and landowners because they are nearly "real time" discussion boards. With just a few minutes of research you can find the message boards that contain some of the best Texas deer hunting leases that are being offered. In many cases, this ability to see the offerings in almost real time is imperative to getting the lease. The forum venue allows you to search quickly and to respond quickly and that can often be the difference in getting the plots that you want or not getting them.Anyone who is new to Texas deer hunting leases should spend some time learning the basics of these agreements before signing up for one. In most cases and in most states, these agreements are the same as contracts, which means that they are legal and binding. You do not want to commit to something unless you fully understand what it is. That is just common sense. You can more about Texas deer hunting leases by visiting any of the forums that are devoted to these programs or by doing a simple online search which will get you started with ease.

Helpful Deer Hunting Supplies

Hunting deer can be a game of waiting as opposed to hunting. The process of hunting deer requires a lot of patience because of how flighty the animal is. If they sense any type of movement, they'll run. They also are very hard to lure to certain areas. Since deer usually live in wide areas, this can pose a problem. Luckily, there are deer hunting supplies that can help keep you hidden and lure the deer to you. Buy these deer hunting supplies for your next trip into the woods. One of the most popular deer hunting supplies is the deer stand. These are little stands that you fit up onto a high point of a tree trunk. From there you can play the waiting game. It may take more than a day for you to see any deer. Because of this, it is very important to have a tree stand. It will give you more of a chance that you won't scare the deer away. As an added bonus deer stands also give hunters a good vantage point of the area around them. You can see much farther from a deer stand. Because of this, you can shoot much farther as well. Always practice safety, though. Make sure to harness yourself onto the tree stand. Since you'll be up high on a little platform, it can be easy to fall off. There have actually been hunting accidents where people have fallen off of their deer stands and broken bones. Don't let this be you. Another great addition to deer hunting supplies is the deer game call. Since deer are very hard to lure to an area, you should use all means at your disposal. Deer calls make sounds that sound just like a real deer. This will often lure deer into the area. Deer are a very social animal and they travel in packs. They may think that your deer call is the call of one of their deer friends. They will then come to the call. This is a great addition to the deer stand. While you're high up in your perch, you can use the call to lure the deer into the area. From there, you can shoot at will. Using both deer hunting supplies in unison will drastically raise your rate of success. The next time you plan a trip to the woods to hunt some deer, don't forget to bring these valuable deer hunting supplies. They can help you bag some of the finest deer you would ever hope to hunt.
